Current Deal Highlights 4-5-2014

The first half of April is Double VIP points at LEGO. For those that don't know, a VIP member typically gets 5% back in points to spend toward a future purchase. 2X VIP points earns you 10%. It's a good time to buy Exclusive & Hard to Find sets.

Target on eBay has a great deal on the soon-to-disappear Lone Ranger Constitution Train (79111).
At $73.99 (free shipping), it's been had at cheaper prices in previous clearance deals, but it's already retired from LEGO, so when it's gone, it's gone.

Target on eBay also has the City Forest Police Station (4440) for $54.99. Again, this one's also gone from LEGO directly, so if you want this one, now might be the time.

Amazon always has dozens of sets on sale, but a couple stand out with Super Heroes being my favorite theme so far.
LEGO Super Heroes Iron Man Malibu Mansion Attack (76007) $29.49
LEGO Superheroes 76011 Batman: Man-Bat Attack $16.00

If you notice on Amazon, retired Super Heroes sets jump up quickly, so getting Malibu Mansion at 25% off is good any time. The Man-Bat set is quite new, so it'll be on shelves longer than Malibu, but it's nice to get a new set marked down so early.

Target - 20% a few themes

This week's ad shows Target has 20% off of Friends, Chima, Super Heroes, Hero Factory & DUPLO themes. Some prices online were already discounted, so you may score even better deals on certain sets.
Don't forget the Red Card for another 5% off!

Toys R Us - BOGO 50% Off

This week, TRU has their Buy One Get One 50% Off deal going on. There's less restrictions than usual by theme (only Mindstorms from what I've read), but they've marked many expensive sets as Hot Price Items that are excluded.

Walmart - Clearance *Update - August 2013

My last post didn't have any pictures, and things have moved around and been picked through since last visiting. I did the rounds today and here's a few things I saw.

Clearance aisle of Trinity Parkway - Stockton, CA

Same aisle of Trinity.

Even more in Trinity's clearance aisle.

Hammer Lane - Stockton, CA

The clearance in Hammer Lane's is more widespread, found in a typical clearance aisle and also several different endcaps.

A goldmine hidden in a back endcap of the toy section - Kettleman Lane - Lodi CA

Walmart - Clearance

Walmart has some random items for clearance, a little of everything. Here is a partial list of things found by myself and a few others:

Sith Fury-class Interceptor - $49
Gungan Sub - $40
Tie Fighter - $35
Geonosian Cannon - $13
Shelob Attacks - $13
Gandalf Arrives - $9
The Mines of Moria - $55
Batwing Battle over Gotham city - $25
Droid Escape - $13
Ultra Sonic Raider - $54
Garmatron - $30
Patrol Car - $7
Dirt Bike Transporter - $13
Excavator Transporter - $30
Flying Dutchmen - $17
Bikini Bottom Undersea Party - $35

The average discount is around 30%, but there's some higher and lower.
Of course, stores vary widely on pricing and inventory. Don't be surprised if one location has it full price while another does not.

Target - Clearance

It's about that time for a mid-year clearance. The stores are varying in what's in clearance and by what percentage, but each has a dozen or more red tagged.

Walmart - Monster Fighters 30% Off

The Monster Fighters sets are red stickered at 30%.
The Captain America (6865) & Catwoman (6858) sets are also priced at $9 in most stores.

This castle set has been re-taped. :(
