Walmart - After Christmas 2012 Clearance

Walmart has some various sets on clearance, often up to 50% off.
Some of these items include the City & Star Wars Advent calendars.

Also, a few seen in person:

Some Dino & Ninjago sets are said to be on sale as well, but they're mostly cleared out from stores already.
Most sets aren't marked, so it might be worth finding a price check scanner on sets you like.

Walmart - Black Friday 2012

Walmart has 2 sets for its Black Friday deals:

Knowing the insanity of Black Friday shopping, there's a good chance the stores are wiped out. The good news is they have a 2 for $30 bundle online and you can choose one of each or 2 of the same.

You can have them shipped to the store or spend $45 to get free shipping to your home.

Update: At this time, it looks like the DUPLO set is out of stock online.

Target - Christmas Polybags

This isn't really a deal, but the Christmas section of Target has the Batmobile polybag for $3.99. I thought we might have missed our chance to get one of these, so it's good to see they're still available.

Walmart - City Mine set on sale

Most people agree that it must've been a typo with a new set being marked down so low, but they are honoring the advertised price. The Walmart in Trinity Parkway has 3 left on the shelf and they ring up at $39.97

For whatever reason, the Town Hall is on sale even though it's often categorized in the Creator or Town themes. I'm not complaining!

Walmart (Hammer Ln) - Clearance

There are a couple of clearance aisles near the garden area quite filled with toys on clearance.

There are a few patches of clearance toys on the ends of aisles and wall on the way toward the bicycle area.

Flo's V8 Cafe for $25 is the best deal I've seen for that set.

Also near the garden area is an aisle of school supplies at regular price that has LEGO pens, stickers and folders.

I swung by Lodi's Walmart yesterday. There were several sets red-stickered.

Walmart - Clearance

I swung by the Walmart on Hammer Lane today. I saw the following:

7052 - Alien Conquest - UFO Abduction - $21 (Reg. $29.99)There had to be at least 9 or 10 of these on the shelf. 

7326 - Pharaoh's Quest - Rise of the Sphinx - $27 (Reg. $49.99)

4842 - Harry Potter - Hogwarts Castle - $80.00 (Reg. $129.99)

4867 - Harry Potter - Hogwarts - $25.00 (Reg. $49.99)
4182 - PotC - The Cannibal Escape - $17.00 (Reg. $29.99)

4866 - Harry Potter - The Knight Bus - $25 (Reg. $34.99)

 I found these in 3 different aisles. The Alien Conquest sets were closer to the checkout by the garden area.
The Knight Bus was an aisle or to further back from the Lego aisle. The other sets were in aisles before and after the bike aisle. I've seen the trend that this particular location likes to place clearance items in at least 4 or 5 aisles, so it's good to look around in less logical spots.

Target - Clearance

There's been talk of certain sets on clearance in various Targets throughout the country. Either the Targets in the Lodi & Stockton didn't have some of these sets on clearance or they were sold out fast. I did, however, see a few Lego games on clearance in Stockton.
Lego Minotaurus, Ninjago, and Heroica: Waldurk Forest games were 60-70% off.

Walmart Clearance

Went to Stockton's Super Walmart on Hammer Lane today. Their toy clearance areas are spread out in 4 or so little areas. I saw the following:
4x 4182 (PotC The Cannibal Escape) @ $21
1x 4842 (HP Hogwarts Castle) @ $90
3x 4867 (HP Hogwarts) @ $35
1x 4866 (HP The Knight Bus) @ $25
2x 7326 (PQ Rise of the Sphinx) @ $39
The Hogwarts Castle box is pretty beat up, but it looks sealed and there's a security device on it. Its aisle is further down by the bicycles.

Kmart - Clearance

Kmart is having their 50% off of clearance items deal again. Lodi's Kmart had a few Captain's Cabin sets from the Pirates of the Caribbean theme for $4.50 (retail is $11.99).

This location also suffers from a bad catch-22 where there are some great deals online at Kmart.com that are pickup only, but the site says they're not in stock. In the store, they're stocked on the shelf but listed at full price. If you're lucky, a manager can override the price to match the online price. Depending on the set and your level of determination, it may not be worth the hassle.

Walmart - Clearance on HP & PotC sets

I'm reading from multiple sources that many Walmart locations have Harry Potter & Pirates of the Caribbean sets marked 30% off and possibly a few other random themes. I have yet to verify this myself, but it may be worth checking out.

Kmart - 50% Off of Clearance Toys

This week, Kmart has their toys on clearance marked down by 50%. So, if you see a yellow clearance sticker on a toy for $10, it will ring up as $5.

Lodi's Kmart this morning had the following LEGO sets on clearance:

• Harry Potter - Freeing Dobby (4736) - $4 (Reg. $11)
• Alien Conquest - Alien Mothership (7065) - $22.50 (Reg. $60)

Not much for LEGO, as usual, but there's a couple of aisles of other toys 50% off as well, so it might be worth taking a look for future birthday and Christmas gifts.

Toys R Us currently has a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off deal on City, Duplo & Cars theme sets.
The deal runs from 3/11-3/17. Beware, sets are often above MSRP at Toy R Us, so do a little price comparison with other stores.

Walmart - Red Balloon Revisited

After checking out the sad selection on Friday in Lodi, California's Walmart, I wasn't very hopeful that more clearance items would appear, but I was pleasantly surprised. From my blurry photo, you can see all the newer items added either yesterday or today. Hopefully the clearance extends beyond tonight. Here's a list of the highlights:

• Alien Conquest - Alien Mothership (7065) - $30 (Reg. $60)
• City - Marina (4644) - $25 (Reg. $50)

The Star Wars set at the bottom of the photo was still over $100, so if it was discounted, it wasn't by much.

Walmart - Red Balloon Clearance Event

Walmart is having a Red Balloon Clearance event going on right now claiming some items are 50% off, including select toys. It's worth a look to see if your local Walmart has any deals on Lego.
Lodi's Walmart had a Star Wars Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship (7930) for $35. Not much else going on there.

Stockton's Walmart had a few Holiday Wreath (30028) polybags for $2.00.

The Series 5 minifigs mentioned in Stockton a couple of days ago were cleared out.

Walmart - Lego Series 5 Minifigures on Clearance

What you'll find on clearance will vary from each location, but it's often worth a look to see if yours has a similar deal. The Walmart in Stockton, CA today had over 2 & 1/2 boxes of Series 5 Minifigures on clearance for $1 each. The top shelf had a complete box not yet unfolded for display, but the tape sealing the sides had been cut. If you were holding out for a deal on minifigures, it doesn't get much cheaper than this.

Target's Trash Becomes Goodwill's Treasure

If anyone follows the clearance deals at Target, you'll see they often drop prices in phases. Some of the Lego sets I had my eye on were the $100 Portal of Atlantis (8078) and the Pharaoh's Quest Scorpion Pyramid (7327). They started off at 15% ($84.99), then dropped to 30% ($69.99) and finally down to 50% off ($49.99). I bought one of each hoping to see a 70% off, but they disappeared from shelves before hitting that low.

Come to find out, they're sent elsewhere at that point and I checked the local Goodwill and there they were for $30. The pro to Goodwill is there's no tax. The con is that they tear the original price stickers off and write the new price on the box with a Sharpie.
