If anyone follows the clearance deals at
Target, you'll see they often drop prices in phases. Some of the Lego sets I had my eye on were the $100 Portal of Atlantis (8078) and the Pharaoh's Quest Scorpion Pyramid (7327). They started off at 15% ($84.99), then dropped to 30% ($69.99) and finally down to 50% off ($49.99). I bought one of each hoping to see a 70% off, but they disappeared from shelves before hitting that low.
Come to find out, they're sent elsewhere at that point and I checked the local Goodwill and there they were for $30. The pro to Goodwill is there's no tax. The con is that they tear the original price stickers off and write the new price on the box with a Sharpie.
