After a long break, it's time to get back to some deals.

LEGO currently has Double VIP Points going on right now. They were scheduled to end on 10/14, but there's some rumors circulating that it might be extended through the month.

This month's promotional offer is the Christmas Train with the purchase of $99 or more and is now in effect.
This is a rare occasion with two great deals overlapping, so now would be a good time to grab a train and earn 2X VIP points at the same time.

The seasonal sets sell out pretty quickly, so you might want to throw in the very cool Thanksgiving Feast set before it's too late!

Current Deal Highlights 4-5-2014

The first half of April is Double VIP points at LEGO. For those that don't know, a VIP member typically gets 5% back in points to spend toward a future purchase. 2X VIP points earns you 10%. It's a good time to buy Exclusive & Hard to Find sets.

Target on eBay has a great deal on the soon-to-disappear Lone Ranger Constitution Train (79111).
At $73.99 (free shipping), it's been had at cheaper prices in previous clearance deals, but it's already retired from LEGO, so when it's gone, it's gone.

Target on eBay also has the City Forest Police Station (4440) for $54.99. Again, this one's also gone from LEGO directly, so if you want this one, now might be the time.

Amazon always has dozens of sets on sale, but a couple stand out with Super Heroes being my favorite theme so far.

If you notice on Amazon, retired Super Heroes sets jump up quickly, so getting Malibu Mansion at 25% off is good any time. The Man-Bat set is quite new, so it'll be on shelves longer than Malibu, but it's nice to get a new set marked down so early.

Target - 20% a few themes

This week's ad shows Target has 20% off of Friends, Chima, Super Heroes, Hero Factory & DUPLO themes. Some prices online were already discounted, so you may score even better deals on certain sets.
Don't forget the Red Card for another 5% off!

Toys R Us - BOGO 50% Off

This week, TRU has their Buy One Get One 50% Off deal going on. There's less restrictions than usual by theme (only Mindstorms from what I've read), but they've marked many expensive sets as Hot Price Items that are excluded.

Walmart - Clearance *Update - August 2013

My last post didn't have any pictures, and things have moved around and been picked through since last visiting. I did the rounds today and here's a few things I saw.

The clearance in Hammer Lane's is more widespread, found in a typical clearance aisle and also several different endcaps.

Walmart - Clearance

Walmart has some random items for clearance, a little of everything. Here is a partial list of things found by myself and a few others:

The average discount is around 30%, but there's some higher and lower.
Of course, stores vary widely on pricing and inventory. Don't be surprised if one location has it full price while another does not.

Target - Clearance

It's about that time for a mid-year clearance. The stores are varying in what's in clearance and by what percentage, but each has a dozen or more red tagged.
